Acting Up: Equality and Diversity Training

Course Description:

• Daring to diversify - deconstructing your emotional connectedness to E & D issues.

• Challenging preconceptions.

• Exploring interactively personal awareness in communication.

• Experiencing an immediate response to the effect you have on others.

• Introducing concepts of natural voice, individual style and sensitivity to space.

How:

• Using structured iprovisation to deconstruct contentious issues arising in the workplace (including Forum Theatre techniques).

• Listening constructively: exploring the structure of argument and power of language found in Shakespeare, other classic playwrights and famous speeches.

• Waking up periphery awareness.

• Providing tools for changing how you come across.

Outcomes:

• Greater understanding of how you come across.

• Enhanced ability to manage many difficult and sensitive issues.

• Enhanced collegiality.

• Less workplace stress.
